Transition into the Late-Pre-classic

Period of great development

Changes highlighting this period:

  1. Cities became larger and more identifiable (30-40 m).
  2. Pyramids found in Mirador, Tikal and Seibal.
  3. Iconography becomes clearer and more uniform.
  4. Pottery is similar to archaeological remnants found in the Maya lowlands following the Chicanel style. This illuminates the cultural cohesiveness during this period.
  5. Chicanel pottery defines this period.
