Pines, Lakes

I saw her smile wide, and stunned she sat

Listening to the words I didn’t say –

And listening for a second enlisted the day

To once again call her my one –

I saw her picking up pieces of me by the

Mountainside scattered under Junipers.

Pines, lakes – I am a burnt impression

On the calloused earth

She beckons me like a shallow pool

I smile at the forgettable fool, I was

Forever in temporary love

She listened to the words I couldn’t say

She listened to images not yet stitched

On to the Earth trembling beneath us

I smile, six feet deep basking in the

Womb of her desire –

Let me take in the nutrients,

And forever float freely in the birth of you

Speaking with God on a road to redemption.
